Always intrigued by sculpture, I discovered the joy of stone carving and sculpture later in my life. I'm so happy I did.
I have sculpted primarily soapstone though recently I have discovered the pleasure of harder stone, such as Alabaster, Prophyllite, African Wonderstone, Serpentine. I've been experimenting with adding points of interest through the addition of gold leafing and incorporating copper into some pieces.
My inspiration comes from nature that surrounds me - the wildlife, forests, rivers of Atlantic Canada. Most recently I have found challenges and rewards in sculpting human figurative form.
